5th Anniversary Celebration 2002

Highlite was the special concert ”SLAVIC SUITE“ by the accordeon-group ARS HARMONICA (Poland)

Love for the accordeon has brought together the three musicians from Czestochowa. They began their common artistic work during their studies at the Music Conservatory at Kattowitz under Prof. J. Pichurea. Soon they would tour across Europe, win several international contests playing at numerous international festivals and with renowed symphonic orchestras.  The wide repertory of the group is varied and full of contrasts and attests to the enormous possibilities and sound-qualitities of the accordeon.  It includes works by Bach, Vivaldi and Piazzola as well as ehtnomusic from Slavic countries in new arrangements. The unique sound and atmosphere of their music stems from a combination of odd rhythms, great temperament, and rich harmonies so typical for Eastern Europe.

During the concert at PROJEKT THEATER STUDIO a CD was recorded and sponsored by strings by THOMASTIK-Infeld, resulting in the first representative CD by ARS HARMONICA.

Concert and CD-recording was made possible by support of PROJEKT THEATER STUDIOS and with special funding of the Cultural Department of the City of Vienna/Intercultural Affairs.
